Bicycle and Pedestrian Information

With growing concern over health, air pollution, and oil dependence bicycle transportation in Salt Lake City is become more prevalent.

The City has over 50 miles of bicycle lanes. The Jordan River trail, Memory Grove trail up to City Creek Canyon, and the Bonneville Shoreline trail all offer a safe haven from cars for commuters and recreational cyclists.

The Bicycle Advisory Committee (MBAC) is a group of volunteer citizens who meet on a monthly basis to guide the implementation of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, plan events for Bike Week in May, and inform the City of problem areas for bicycle commuters.

The MBAC meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:30 in the Cannon Room of the City and County Building. There are no formally appointed members. Anyone with an interest in cycling and bicycle safety is welcome to attend.
